Stop #26: Food Truck Rally in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, New York, USA

New York's food trucks are gathered at the Grand Army Plaza in Prospect Park on the first and third Sundays. I thought the lines would be ridiculous but it was not bad at all. Well, arriving early was probably a good move also.

Got the much-talked-about lobster roll from the Red Hook Lobster Pound truck. It was $16, not cheap, but there were chucks of lobster meat, huge chunks! It was so juicy and fresh, though I thought it could use a bit more seasoning. The lobsters are driven from Maine weekly.

This was the Milk Truck Classic from the Milk Truck Grilled Cheese, made with Aged Wisconsin Gruyere, Cultured Butter on Balthazar Levain Pullman Bread. I added on mushroom. The cheese-bread combination definitely brought a simple grilled cheese sandwich up a notch. Loved the grill marks.

Van Leeuwen Artisan Ice Cream truck offers ice cream using only fresh hormone and antibiotic free milk and cream from local farms, cane sugar and egg yolks. They have some interesting flavors, such as Earl Grey Tea and Ginger. I tried the Pistachio flavor and it was yummy.
